North Carolina car dealer fees and sales tax
What the state's own rules and tax pages say, with a link to each. Local taxes and fees are not included, so use the numbers on your quote for those.
- Dealer doc fee
- North Carolina lets a dealer charge an administrative or documentary fee only if the dealer posts a notice at least 24 inches on each side saying the fee may be charged (G.S. 20-101.1). We did not find a dollar limit in that section. Ask for the exact fee.
