Illinois car dealer fees and sales tax
What the state's own rules and tax pages say, with a link to each. Local taxes and fees are not included, so use the numbers on your quote for those.
- Dealer doc fee
- Illinois caps the documentary fee. The base was $300 from January 1, 2020, and it is adjusted every year (815 ILCS 375/11.1). We have not read this year's figure, so ask the dealer for it in writing.
